The Shirtless One returns in August. ComicBook.com can exclusively reveal bear fighter shirt 2, a new story from the side-split, snack, and fan-favorite series that brings together writer Jodi Lehope and artist Neil Vendrell, who worked together on Image Comics’ 2017 Shirtless Bear-Fighter series. Along with the announcement come two August covers bear fighter shirt 2 #1 from Dave Johnson and Chris Brunner who not only features the shirt but also his team of supporting characters. Fans can expect the same high-octane action and take the punches they were used to in the original series.
“The Shirtless Bear-Fighter is very possibly the most delightful comedian of all time, and given the events of the past few years, we can all benefit from some of that joy right now,” LeHeup said in a statement. “So I’m so happy to announce SBF 2. We’ve always said we won’t do more unless we find the right story and the boy finds it. I can’t wait for fans to see what Nil and I have in store. If you thought Volume 1 was wild, you haven’t seen Nothing yet. Brace yourselves!”
The description for the first issue reads: “Finally! The Man, the Legend, and the Legend – A Shirtless Fighter returns to War on the Bear in a new action comedy with higher stakes, new characters and all the heart and fun fans have come to expect. This time, Shirtless’s quest for his true origin puts him in a A cosmic collision path with the bear god… URSA MAJOR!”
LeHeup previously told ComicBook.com about the Shirtless Bear-Fighter, “There is so much to love about this book. It’s hard to know where to start!” Probably because people enjoy falling out of their chairs laughing. Maybe it’s because we live in very dark times and people like to be reminded of what joy feels like. Or maybe people really like a split dong.”
